All
food is prepared on site and our chef provides a varied, nutritionally
balanced diet. Special dietary requirements are also catered for. Parents
of babies are asked to provide bottles or breast milk with bottles.
Nutrition Strategy
A dietician from South Tyneside Hospital has worked with the catering and management staff at Stanhope Rd and Ashfield Court to help with the planning of a healthy, balanced, nutritious menu for the children.
8 staff within the South Shields Nurseries have undertaken the NCFE level 2certificate in Nutrition and Health.
The benefits of this programme, have been disseminated across all group nurseries to ensure all children are provided with healthy, tasty nutritional meals throughout the day
Toileting
Children
who are toilet trained are encouraged in a positive manner. We make
this a fun activity in partnership with parents.
Clothes
Parents are asked to provide a spare set of labelled clothes.
Cold weather clothes, hot weather hats and sun creams should also be
supplied.
Parents of babies are asked to provide nappies and wipes.
The Low Fell, Gateshead nursery is located within a charming listed building set in 7 acres of woodland. There is abundant free parking and the children enjoy games in our large outdoor play areas, in a safe secure environment. Please read more at Low Fell Nursery, Gateshead.

The Ashfield Court Nursery in South Shields sits in the grounds of South Tyneside District Hospital, where we work in partnership with the South Tyneside Healthcare Trust.
